The Experience
Begin your adventure with a short drive from Tbilisi to Birtvisi. Leave the vehicle behind and hike approximately 30–40 minutes through the natural landscape to reach the climbing area. Once there, your professional climbing guide will provide a safety briefing and introduce you to the equipment and climbing environment before the adventure begins. The Birtvisi climbing area features 10 sport climbing routes ranging from 5a to 7a on the French grading scale, as well as approximately 25 bouldering problems. This offers a variety of challenges for different experience levels, from beginners to more experienced climbers. Spend the day climbing on the dramatic rock formations, practicing different techniques, and enjoying the peaceful natural surroundings. Take a break around midday to enjoy included snacks in the climbing area before continuing the adventure. For those interested in history and exploration, the area also offers the opportunity to hike to two historic castles located on top of the rock formations. Each castle hike takes approximately 1 hour and offers a chance to discover the fascinating landscape and historical atmosphere of Birtvisi. After finishing the climbing activities at approximately 6:00 PM, hike back to the vehicle and begin the return journey to Tbilisi. See more
