From Tbilisi: 2-Day Rock Climbing Adventure in Mestia

The Experience

Escape the city and travel deep into the spectacular mountains of Svaneti on a 2-day rock-climbing adventure from Tbilisi to Mestia. This experience combines an unforgettable journey through Georgia's dramatic landscapes with professional rock climbing in one of the country's most beautiful mountain regions. Spend two days surrounded by the peaks of the Greater Caucasus, enjoy an overnight stay in Mestia, and challenge yourself on climbing routes suitable for different experience levels. No previous rock-climbing experience is required. Professional climbing instructors will provide safety instructions, technical guidance, and all necessary climbing equipment throughout the experience. Mestia is one of Georgia's most spectacular mountain destinations and the cultural heart of Svaneti. Along the way, you will travel through changing landscapes, from the Georgian capital to the remote valleys and towering peaks of the Caucasus. Day 1: Travel from Tbilisi to Mestia and Afternoon Climbing Begin your adventure with an early morning departure from Tbilisi at approximately 7:00 AM. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery of Georgia as you travel from the capital toward the spectacular mountain landscapes of Svaneti. Arrive in Mestia at approximately 3:00 PM and take a short break before beginning your climbing experience. At approximately 4:00 PM, meet your climbing instructors and receive a safety briefing and introduction to the climbing area. After a light snack, begin your climbing session under the supervision of experienced professionals. The climbing area features 14 sport climbing routes ranging from approximately 5a to 7c on the French grading system, offering options for different levels of experience and ability. Enjoy several hours of climbing in the spectacular surroundings of Mestia before finishing the activity at approximately 7:00 PM. After the climbing session, relax and spend the night in a comfortable local guesthouse in Mestia. Day 2: Morning Climbing and Return to Tbilisi Enjoy breakfast at the guesthouse before beginning your second day of climbing. At approximately 10:00 AM, return to the climbing area and continue your adventure with another supervised climbing session. Your instructors will provide guidance throughout the activity and help you choose routes according to your experience and comfort level. Take a break and enjoy a light snack in the climbing area around midday. Continue climbing until approximately 3:00 PM. Optional Cultural Experiences Depending on the schedule and availability, you may also have the opportunity to visit local cultural attractions in Mestia, including: The Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography, which showcases the region's unique culture, history, and traditions. The museum dedicated to Mikheil Khergiani, one of Georgia's most famous climbers and mountaineers. Arrive back in Tbilisi after the long-distance drive, completing your 2-day mountain adventure.
